By default a person approves every plan post. For a plan you trust, an Owner or Admin can turn on automatic approval: then a plan post still undecided in Approvals after a waiting period is approved at its slot time, as long as it passed every check.

Automatic approval is off until you turn it on, and it is set per plan. It applies only to posts of that plan. Posts made in Posts, posts scheduled with Schedule a post and the rules in Settings → Automations never approve posts automatically.

Turn it on for a plan

  1. Open the plan and select Edit plan, or start a new plan with New plan.

  2. Turn on Approve automatically. A note says that no email is sent: waiting posts show a countdown in Approvals.

  3. Select Save plan or Create plan.

The plan’s page then shows that approval is automatic after a waiting period in Approvals. Only Owners and Admins with access to every location can change the switch; others see Only an Owner or Admin can change this.

Check which posts qualify

At the slot time, MX approves a waiting plan post only when all of these are true:

  • it isn’t in the plan’s first two slots, which a person always approves;
  • it has waited in Approvals for the full waiting period since it was last sent. A post edited too close to its slot to finish the waiting period waits for a person;
  • its AI policy check passed. A flagged post waits for a person even if someone allowed the flag, and so does a post the check couldn’t review;
  • its photo or video can still be used, Google is connected and your company’s automations aren’t paused.

Any post that doesn’t qualify stays in Approvals for a person, who can still approve it for a short time after its slot. While a post is counting down, Approvals and the plan’s page show Publishes automatically in and the time left, so you can still approve, reject or edit it first.

Stop automatic approval

It stops at once when you turn Approve automatically off, pause the plan, pause your company’s automations, when your company’s plan changes to one without Content Plan, or when the person who turned it on is no longer an Owner or Admin. Posts already waiting then need a person.
